A Site For Everyone Who Hates Spam and Pop Ups

Using a spam bayes Tool

Utilizing a spam bayes tool to filter out spam before it gets to your inbox can make reading your mail a more pleasant experience.

What is spam? Any type of unsolicited commercial email. Sorting through these emails is a waste of time, bandwidth and diskspace. Even though there are laws in place, spammers have little regard for the law and, there is little hope that spammers will adhere to the laws so your best defense is to filter out as much as you can from your email

How Did Your Address Get On An Email List?

Most spammers harvest email addresses from the web. If you have ever posted in a forum or advertised on the internet and included your email then it was probably grabbed by a spammer. If you have your email listed in an online advertisement, on a website or have published it in a forum, it is likely that it will be harvested for one of these lists. Unfortunately, no software anti spam program, not even a spam bayes tool will be able to remove you from the lists.

Spam Can Be Harmful

For your defense, you need a spam bayes tool to filter the spam, but you need an antivirus tool as well. It’s not enough to see the dozens of spam emails that appear in your inbox overnight trying to sell you pharmaceuticals or fake rolex watches, but if you are unlucky enough to click on them you might be opening your system up to a virus! It’s estimated that 95% of all viruses are spread through email. Once a virus gets into your computer, it can spread itself by mailing itself out to everyone on your address list.
